SWEET BABY BOY

This baby shower cake was so much fun to make.  Cute decorations cover a dark chocolate fudge cake iced in blue buttercream and a baby boy made from marshmallows and a vanilla wafer rest upon the top. This sweet boy is all snuggled up with his blanket made from fondant and is sleeping peacefully under the moon and stars made of gumpaste. Fondant stars all around the bottom make a nice finish for such a darling cake.

This cake can also be done in pink or any other color of your choice to accommodate any Mommy-to-be.

CALLA LILLIES & PEARLS

Once again I had the pleasure of creating a cake for my neighbor and friend, Renee.

Her son Matt had just announced that he was getting married and she was planning an engagement party for him and his bride to be, Mollie.

We decided on a white cake and the colors peach and ivory.  She told me that whatever I chose to do was fine with her but mentioned that Mollie loves flowers.  Wow...what a trusting friend she is!  I thought that peach calla lillies would be beautiful sitting on top of ivory fondant and since they are also one of my favorite flowers to make, I decided I would use them for this cake.

The cake was a white cake iced with buttercream and then covered with ivory colored fondant.  On the top and bottom, I placed the calla lillies which were made from gum paste and then added some simple pearls for an elegant touch to this special cake. Nothing too fancy, just simple and elegant.

They were planning on having children at the party so I made cookies shaped like hearts and flowers and then decorated them with fondant and sprinkles. I also made yummy treats using Marshmallows stacked on a stick and then dipped them in white chocolate & sprinkles.  The kids LOVED them!

Rice Krispy Treats cut small for little hands were also dipped in white chocolate and covered in sprinkles. I placed these yummy treats in pretty wicker baskets with grass and they were also used as decor on the dessert table made just for the kids. What better than decorations you can eat???

What a great party this celebration turned out to be! The guests loved all the desserts and most importantly, Matt and Mollie were thrilled with their cake.

Congratulations Matt and Mollie!

CARS AND CAKE FOR MICHAEL

This Disney's CARS cake was made for my great nephew, Michael, when he celebrated his third birthday. The cake turned out really cute and is definitely one of my favorites.

Michael loves chocolate so I made a chocolate cake, covered it with buttercream and added chocolate Oreo's around the bottom. Crushed Oreo's and M&M's made a perfect racetrack and green buttercream was used for the grass. No race can start or end without a flag so cute little race flags were added for the perfect start and finish.  I added Michael's favorite CARS character from the movie and the cake was complete.

Michael was thrilled with his cake and didn't even want to cut it!

Happy Birthday Little Guy!

LET THE GOODTIMES ROLL

My friend Mr. Cook is celebrating his 75th birthday so only a very special cake would do for this occasion.

When his wife and I started to brainstorm about the perfect cake for him, she shared with me that she would like to do something that showed his love for traveling. They had just returned from Las Vegas, one of his favorite places to travel so we decided it would be fun to throw a Poker Party!

This cake is made from a lemon cake with a buttercream frosting and covered in my homemade marshmallow fondant. The dice are also lemon cake that I covered in buttercream and then decorated with fondant dots.

The hearts, diamonds and spade shapes are also made from fondant and placed around the bottom layer of the cake. A few playing cards and some gold coins and we were on a roll and ready to wish Glen a VERY Happy 75th Birthday!

Happy Birthday Glen! Let The Good Times Roll!!

BIRTHDAY CAKE / GROOMS CAKE

Here is a photo of a cake that I have done in the past that would make a gorgeous Groom's cake but since it is so yummy, would made a wonderful birthday cake as well for that special chocolate lover in your life!

This cake is a four tier chocolate fudge cake covered with a chocolate fudge buttercream.  Dark chocolate fudge icing complement the top and bottom to give a nice contrast and help make it to die for!

I like to decorate the top of the cake with Pirouline rolled wafers and handmade chocolate candy swirls.

Served on a silver platter this makes a great cake for any occasion!

BIRTHDAYS & BUBBLEGUM

What a fun and colorful cake this was!

Lola Cate is my Granddaughter's best friend and she was turning five.  Lola Cate loves bubblegum so it seemed only fitting that this sweet girl would have a bubblegum themed birthday party. Her Mom and I thought it would be fun to make her a bubblegum cake and I believe it turned out perfectly.

Lola Cate's favorite flavor of cake is vanilla so I covered a vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream and my homemade marshmallow fondant.  I cut out colorful fondant circles in all different colors and sizes and placed them all over the cake.  Bubblegum spilling out of a gumball machine and a few gold coins helped to decorate the top of this fun cake. Pink fondant sprinkled with sparkle dust was used to spell her name and make the big number "5".

Lola Cate was having lots of friends at her party so I made cupcakes to go along with this cake. I wanted them to be sweet and simple so I used vanilla cake with vanilla buttercream and placed a single gumball on top of each of them.

Lola Cate's party was a huge success and she loved her cake. Happy Birthday Lola Cate!
